The Bundelas trace their descent from the Gaharwar Rajputs of Benaras. The Gaharwars are invariably connected with the rule of Benaras. The Bundela Rajputs an offshoot of Gaharwar Rajputs came to Bundelkhand in 1048 A.D. when Muslim armies evicted the Rajputs from the Ganga Valley. The Bundelkhand Riverside consists of 29 Bedrooms, 17 of which are river facing. The Guest Rooms are large (22 Ft by 20 Ft) with attached bathrooms and fireplaces. All Bathrooms (8 Ft by 10 Ft) have a Bidet in them. The Fire Places can be lit in the winter months between November and February. All rooms have an air conditioner and phone facility.
